7. Working Time Regulations
The Working Time Regulations This summary looks at the Working Time Regulations 1998 and the provisions relating to working time only. The Working Time Regulation also cover holidays, but please see the holiday section for information about holidays. The basic rights relating to working time are: A working limit of an average 48 hours over a 17-week period. Rest breaks of 20 minutes for those who work more than six hours. 11 hours rest in a 24-hour period. 24 hours rest per week. A limit of eight hours (average) work in a 24-hour period for night workers. Free health assessments for night workers. The Regulations apply to employees and workers (but not genuinely self-employed).
This means they apply to most casual workers and agency workers....
